Nutritional Transparency

Trust, Quality, and Love

At Albright's Raw Pet Food, we believe our four-legged friends deserve the very best! When it comes to feeding them, nutritional transparency isn’t just important—it’s essential. Raw dog food has become a popular choice for pet parents who want to provide a more biologically appropriate, wholesome diet. But with so many options out there, how do you know what’s really in your pup’s bowl (fillers? carbs? synthetics even?)

When companies are clear about their ingredients and sourcing, you know you're investing in your pet’s long-term health. It builds trust and shows a commitment to quality. Plus, wouldn’t you want to know that your furry companion is getting nothing but the best? After all, a healthy dog is a happy dog!

At Albright's Raw Pet Food, we stand for transparency. Because when it comes to your dog’s food, you should never have to guess.

Nutrition Profiles - Complete Recipes

Nutrition Profile References

Albright's nutrition profiles were developed using the following nutrition sources:

  • USDA Food Database
  • National Research Council's book Nutrient Requirements for Dogs and Cats
  • Lab testing conducted by Eurofins Nutrition
  • Ingredient manufacturer Certificate of Analysis
Derived with Intention and Precision

Albright's nutrition profiles were developed using dry matter basis (or moisture removed) analysis.  This enables side-by-side comparison to other food types (dry or wet).  Most raw dog foods contain 70-75% moisture.

Raw pet foods are generally considered calorically dense (defined as >4,000 kcal/kg of dry matter metabolizable energy).  All of Albrights' Complete and Balanced recipes meet the definition of calorically dense; this means a correction to the nominal AAFCO minimums must be made, which is reflected in the profiles.

3rd Party Consultation

At Albright's Raw Pet Food, we never develop a recipe without hearing from other experts in the industry.  Over the years, we have consulted with veterinary nutritionists and even 'celebrity' holistic vets on ingredient selection and recipe formulation.

Bonus Material

What does Complete and Balanced mean?

"Complete" means the product contains all the nutrients required.

"Balanced" means the nutrients are present in the correct ratios.

Life Stage Nutrition

The nutrition required for a puppy or a pregnant dog differs slightly from the nutrition that an adult dog needs.  If the nutrition is adequate for a puppy or pregnant dog, the nutritional adequacy statement on the Albright's label will state:

"Albright's Raw Dog Food ______ Recipe for dogs is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including growth of large size dogs (70 lbs or more as an adult)."

It is also important to note that it is perfectly acceptable for an adult dog to eat a food with the statement above!  For example, adult dogs thrive on the Albright's Puppy Recipe, even though the recipe was crafted for optimal growth and development.
